Scorpio Full Moon: May 16th, 2022
Healing ArtsHello to my sweet Astro family! This month has been overwhelming for me but I have been dreaming about this full moon since the beginning of the month and as part of my own self-care, I must find the time and energy to write and reflect. This full moon is also known as the Flower Moon, representing a time of abundance and beginnings. So much beauty all around!
This full moon is in Scorpio and happens on Monday, May 16th! This juicy Scorpio full moon offers us so much and it is considered a supermoon and it is also a lunar eclipse! Fun things like supermoons and eclipses are magical astronomical events (nerd, yes, raising my hand shyly over here) that occur when the earth is closer to the sun and moon, aligned just so during the night of the full moon. In the last year or so of my study of the sky and my relationship with the planets, I look at these occurrences more matter-of-fact rather than as something super special or significant. These occurrences are special because everything must be aligned just so, however, so does each alignment of each planet and star which creates so much magic and opportunities or information.
The more I study, I have grown to not hype about eclipses as much. They are such dynamic energy to understand and integrate than the more intricate delicate inner workings of the stars (that I talk about in these blogs). The eclipse to me feels like yin/yang energy – throw that in the mix of a lot of gray and colors. I feel eclipses have a lot to do with the condition of the human psyche and much more (for another post). They are exciting, with big vibes, and science, but sometimes too much to comprehend energetically!
It is simply put: it is an ongoing conversation and discussion between me and the sky at all times – just like these blogs: the conversation is an ongoing one that never truly stops but has moments of pause in between something new unfolding. Just like the symbol of the flower for this full moon. Let’s pause in the beauty of what we know, see, and who we are right now, at this moment, in this version. A lot easier said than done, maybe so!
We have a Taurus stallium consisting of the Sun, Mercury, True North, and Uranus all in Taurus across from the moon in Scorpio. I LOVE this. Most people would say… yuck. Stagnation. Fixed. Inflexibility. NOT BUDGING! The word ¨No¨ or phrases like, ¨No thank you¨ being used a lot. I prefer the word ¨fixed¨ rather than stubborn (stubbornness feels like a negative thing, but sometimes we need to be fixed). It is such an energy to honor, no?
The following are some phrases that ring true in honoring this time and energy of this full moon:
Please respect me.
I need to take the time that I need.
I need to be okay with my own decisions.
I am the one responsible for me.
I will ask for your opinion if want it.
Please honor my boundaries/limits/space.
These two energies of Taurus and Scorpio are so nice because even though they are opposing, they are so much alike. The Scorpio energy likes to retreat, be in solitude, and not be around so much chatter (especially small talk, ha!) – willing to detach from others who deplete them. Scorpios might get grouchy because they do not realize that most people are unaware. Same with the Taurus vibe this full moon: if you push Taurus, then expect them not to let you in. They are known as stubborn, but I like to think of them as sometimes being fixed and for good reason (within balance!). There is always a balance, however, Taurus energy teaches me healthy boundaries, trust, holding space for someone, and respect (and so much more). Like Scorpio, if you keep pushing them… do not be shocked if they go their own way or maybe just need some space. Remember that you are ultimately… free.
There is not a lot of air this full moon, so communication might be tricky. Breathing through it and trying our best is key – communication comes in many forms: our body language, tone (meta-communication – how we say something), eye contact, and so much more. Personally, during this full moon, I need a break from communicating too much. That is probably because I am a Scorpio moon and my giving and huggable, lovable Jupiter in Taurus wants to keep giving but… hey, what about me?! Plus, I am a therapist and communicate all day for my work! This full moon is giving me permission to rest and trust all my communication skills are going to thank me later and forevermore!
WORD FOR THIS FULL MOON:
STILLNESS.
MANTRA FOR THIS FULL MOON:
Time to go inward and listen
It is an inward time for this Scorpio moon. Time to take those communication skills and use them on ourselves to listen and understand our own needs and truly show up for ourselves and meet those needs that show up upon deeply listening. First, we have to listen to ourselves so we can learn and understand, and then we can address anything that comes up during this intimate time we give ourselves. You deserve it. 100%.
Mercury in Taurus says my thoughts and my mind are my own! Do not push me to agree with you, thank you very much! Take ownership of your mind, it is beautiful, and it is yours. Uranus putting his arms around the Sun and Mercury here to add that extra permission slip and support to stay strong. I have rights, I am free. I am safe to feel freedom. Big hugs. Can you feel Uranus and Mercury hugging you and your ego/earthly human existence? It feels so nice to have their support, so feel the hug because it is there! Freedom hugs from planets are the best. Take them while you can, but if you miss them this time around, there will be more.
Venus hanging out in Aries adds a little fire perhaps within an intimate relationship(s) and if you are not in a relationship – Aries fire has a way of showing up in your relationship with yourself. There is a little Aries in each of us (I feel it in me even though I have no Aries in my chart – I have grown to love the Aries within me!)
And the other stallium this full moon is in Pisces with Jupiter, Neptune, and Mars. Like the last full moon… we still have some dreaming to do and again Saturn in Aquarius allows us to keep an open mind, especially in the realm of work. With all these energies going on, it feels nice to have just a little air to breathe with the Aquarius Saturn – giving us a little relief, helping us stay hard at work, our dharma.
A few highlights/tips for this full moon that might help support you:
☾☽ True Node in Taurus again this full moon. Small earthy pleasures are here to uplift us! What are they for you this full moon? I am still super into having flowers around in my home… I savor the smell. Lilies and lilacs are a couple of my favorite flowers and smells. I also have been loving some old vinyl records and letting those spin in my living room or just going on a joy ride listening to music. I love a good drive, especially when it is sunny out. Try feeling gratitude in your heart or within yourself for the things of the earth that bring you joy (both nature-made or man-made).
☾☽ Trusting your intuition or instincts is so aligned with the Scorpio moon and Taurus sun 100%! For me, this full moon is showing me exactly why I made certain decisions for myself in the past and I am seeing how those decisions benefit me now even though they were difficult to make because others may have not agreed. It is okay to say ¨no¨ in order to take care of ourselves.
☾☽ Carve out some time for yourself to just listen to yourself and be with yourself if it feels nourishing, or even challenge yourself a little if you are not used to your own company. Maybe it is just taking a bath or shower or going for a walk by yourself. See what things you learn about yourself. Try to be present, curious, and playful with yourself as well as non-judgmental.
☾☽ With not that much air element this full moon, remember to breathe!!!
Keep it steady.
Happy wise, beautiful, and bountiful Scorpio full moon to you,

Friendly reminder (disclaimer): Please note that the purpose of the above blog post is to share some insights and themes I personally came to understand through the study of astrology around the full moon. Remember that we all feel the full moon differently and so you may not resonate with everything I wrote in this post. As always, dismiss anything that does not resonate with you or help you. It is also important to note that the information in this post cannot act as a substitute for any kind of therapy with a licensed professional or replace your personal self-care practices, however, can add to it or complement it. My intention is simply to aid in your experience of the full moon by providing some information I have personally gathered based on my studies in astrology while also adding some of my personality and personal information so that you can compare it with your own astrology information as I find this very helpful. It is helpful to get to know my relationship with the stars and planets so that you have something to compare your own relationship with your natal chart/stars and planets as well. I find this very helpful in the way I teach and share astrology. I also think sharing a little bit about myself helps me to connect with you!
