Leo Full Moon: Feb. 16th, 2022Healing Arts
Welcome to our second full moon of 2022: the Snow Moon. It is coming up in about 4 days, landing on Wednesday, February 16th, of this wonderful year of 2022! I will only be writing about the monthly full moons on this blog, and hopefully, in the future, I will have more time to write about the new moons and other topics as well. I want to keep up with at least the full moon. It will be a time for me to slow down and center my thoughts on each full moon and go a little more in-depth with some insights and themes to share with you.
This full moon coming up happens to be in the sign of Leo. The symbol for Leo is the lion. Some things to know about the whole Leo vibe: like a lion, they are quite majestic energy-wise and even in appearance, bold, maybe, however not many know that it is also the shyest sign. Leo needs some healthy attention, to be seen by others as it helps their ego health, and not every sign needs this. Our Leo needs this kind of love as it can feel like they are the center of attention, there is a way for it to be healthy, too. Leo is very beautiful energy; very giving and the best friend, as they are very loyal. They have a heart of gold, one that needs to be protected with a key and locked for only those who know how to truly receive their kind of love with care. I would also like to say they are the most sensitive of the fire signs. Underneath their physical beauty is many emotions. It is honestly a very rough sign in my opinion and personality/identity is often a struggle for Leo – one that also feels right or mirrors their outer appearance. The struggle is real as Leo is all about individuality and standing out and dancing to the beat of their own drum. You are different says, Leo! You are special and unique, and no one is like ME, roars the Leo! Leo is so right, we really are, and we need that permission in the world. Leo also has that fight-for-the-underdog kind of spirit, which I also adore.
And guess what. The Leo moon is directly across from the sun… man oh man, and the sun is ruled by Leo (however it is in Aquarius this full moon, so the sun has that Aquarius-Leo feels to it right now)! We have the sun and moon fully reflecting each other; planets being across from each other can sometimes feel like a push or pull feeling! However, here, we can think of it as our personality (the sun) also wanting to be very Leo-y, just like the moon (emotional body) – feeling our emotions in bigger ways this full moon due to the fire element, yet still holding space for tenderness and sensitivity or feeling insecure, shy, or even overwhelmed.
It is okay because Jupiter in Pisces is there not too far away from the sun helping us to chill out. We can totally lean on Jupiter this full moon for that waterier element. Jupiter in Pisces can simply remind us of the bigger picture in a soothing way. We can swim in those waters to cool off, always remembering that emotions come and go, and we are not our emotions. Emotions are truly a temporary thing and I love that Jupiter is here to remind us of and support us this full moon. The planets always have our back!
A bit on Saturn, it shares the Aquarius vibe with the sun. The theme with Saturn is work and discipline but has that flavor of Aquarius… kind of in your own world and thinking outside the box pretty naturally. I know for me even days leading up to this full moon, I am toast. I have every intention to keep up with my disciplines: I have the everyday work, learning, and self-care stuff I do, jogging being one of them. And… I will tell you; I am feeling like toast usually a few days leading up to full moons, I need to rest on all levels and so I must remind myself it is the full moon and chill out a little, listen to my body, ya feel? You might feel that, too. I am a little more sensitive to the moon phases because of my personal natal chart, but your girl’s got you if you are feeling it, too. Rest if you need to rest and you might even find yourself naturally thinking outside the box with how you rest or finding different ways to rest more successfully. For me, out of nowhere, I just switched up my jogs and added something new and it felt great and had a positive impact on more deeply resting. I had not thought of it before until recently!
If you have a strong Saturn like me or are a very Saturnian person (I am because my Saturn exists in a stallium so it is innately a big theme for me in life) you might struggle to loosen your grip on your routine during full moons if you get zonked. Therefore, for me, astrology especially gives me knowledge about the full moon and can often provide me with a logical reason I am feeling this way and some guidance. It helps my mind to relax and realize how we are impacted by the moon and what is going on in the solar system (in relation to my existence and being) and to try my best to stay in rhythm with the planets, to better understand them and myself, rather than plow through exhaustion.
I am also loving this stallium that is next to Saturn. It consists of Mercury, Pluto, Mars, and Venus. Lots of solid vibes there, too. I think it is worth mentioning a stallium when I see them! Mercury is in Aquarius just like the sun and Saturn and the rest of the stallium is in Capricorn giving us some earth, structure, and reason. Those Capricorn planets can help us to slow down and think about things, perhaps in the realms of the planets themselves… Venus (relationships), Mars (our male energy), and Pluto (unconscious material). It is an interesting stallium there and it feels subtle to me because of the strong Capricorn energy which helps me be very much in real-time and not space cadet time. I notice that when a stallium is in the same sign, I feel it less because it is such a strong solid energy that it does not stick out to me much. It feels supportive and I often do not have a ton of little comments about them – I so love stalliums! They kind of exist without many words and I have a big thank you for their support for holding the collective consciousness together. Big job, but they do it well.
Mercury rules the mind, ya´ll. It is such a cool planet. I personally really like the planet a lot. This Aquarius Mercury might be tricky for earth sign Mercury folks as it is an air sign and can feel a bit fast (airy) mentally. Maybe our minds can feel faster this full moon, or you might have some interesting ideas, perhaps! Maybe some worth journaling about or allowing your mind to wander about them.
A few highlights/tips for this full moon that might help support you:
☾☽ Take some time to build upon your self-esteem this full moon. Do something of your comfort and choice that fills your self-esteem bucket. Perhaps look in the mirror and tell yourself you are beautiful, and you love yourself even if it feels strange, smile, and be playful like a lion cub.
☾☽ Remember your individuality makes you special. There is no one like you. You get to be YOU and what a gift that truly is. Let´s see if we can internalize that more and more with this full-moon opportunity!
☾☽ The art of relaxation. It is an art, right? Sometimes, we try to rest but are not fully allowing ourselves and then are overwhelmed with feelings of regret and guilt! That is normal. Practice really letting go and mastering the art of relaxation if you are needing rest. It is okay to slow down and take a real break.
☾☽ Try not to be influenced by Valentine’s Day and all the myths, expectations, or illusions that this very commercialized day can bring. Venus is in Capricorn – so, relationships need to make sense, if that makes sense. It is practical and earthy. No need to get trapped in fantasy too much although it can be fun. Simply put as the Capricorn: the people in your life are either in your life for a reason or not. You get to make sense of that yourself.
And I hope that you feel at peace with the people in your life this full moon and if you do not, that is okay, too. With the pandemic shaking up things so much socially, we all need time to recover and/or take in those around us. Be kind to yourself, and love yourself. And, if it makes you feel any better, I am the most impractical ridiculous person I know but the people that love me really love me, and yes, I need to surround myself with practical people, or else I would just sit at my computer and type about star alien language all day every day and not do real human practical stuff. I am working on it people, believe me, I am getting this whole being human thing, but it is no joke! I have mostly Saturn and Jupiter to thank for making me a more functional human being in society.
With humor, laughs, and smiles,
Have a wonderful full moon this Wednesday!

Friendly reminder (disclaimer): Please note that the purpose of the above blog post is to share some insights and themes I personally came to understand through the study of astrology around the full moon. Remember that we all feel the full moon differently and so you may not resonate with everything I wrote in this post. As always, dismiss anything that does not resonate with you or help you. It is also important to note that the information in this post cannot act as a substitute for any kind of therapy with a licensed professional or replace your personal self-care practices, however, can add to it or complement it. My intention is simply to aid in your experience of the full moon by providing some information I have personally gathered based on my studies in astrology while also adding some of my personality and personal information so that you can compare it with your own astrology information as I find this very helpful. It is helpful to get to know my relationship with the stars and planets so that you have something to compare your own relationship with your natal chart/stars and planets as well. I find this very helpful in the way I teach and share astrology. I also think sharing a little bit about myself helps me to connect with you!
